Chris lives with his wife and two children in Ajax, Ontario and works out of his home workshop as well as providing his services to Paddon Piano Services in Toronto and Walter’s Music in Oshawa. He spends his free time listening to Renaissance Choir Music.

In addition to being a violin maker, Chris Andrew is a Certified Piano Technician and a graduate of the Piano Technology Program at the University of Western Ontario. This program is the only full-time course of study in Piano Technology offered in a university environment. Chris Andrew is a maker of fine violins, violas, cellos and basses including custom and specialty instruments. Chris’ training in violin making started in Stringed Musical Instrument Construction at the Ontario College of Art and Design taught by luthier Philip Davis. Chris has continued to expand his knowledge and improve his skills over the years both through his own experience and by continuing to receive input and guidance from Mr. Davis’ upon completion of his instruments.
Chris’ knowledge also includes an extensive background in antique refinishing and restoration which lends itself to the skilled work involved in the finishing of his instruments.
